Double Cleansing: Why You Need to Include it in Your Sensitive Skin Regimen

Hello beauties! There is a new skincare term in town and it’s none other than double cleansing. You probably have heard it somewhere, or are using his method, but didn’t know it has a name. Either case, I’m here to tell you everything you need to know about double cleansing.
Double cleansing is basically the act of washing your face twice. But it’s not just any type of washing. There are two steps to it.

Oil-Based Cleanser

First you will need to wash your face with a oil-based cleaner. This will insure that all the dirt and excess oils are cleared. It also removes makeup, even around the eye, leaving your skin super hydrated.

Water-Based Cleanser

The second part of the double cleansing method is to use a water-based cleaner. This part most of use are familiar with. But after having the first cleansing with the oil, using a foaming cleanser, further cleans your skin.
The double cleansing method insures that your sensitive skin stays clean and fresh, specially when wearing makeup. I have been double cleaning for a while now and I definitely see the importance of it. It is no wonder why Japanese women love this technique.
I keep it very simple and nature when it comes to my cleansers. Cleansers with organic ingredients, or ones that moisturizes the skin are my go-to for my sensitive skin. The last thing you want is for a cleansing to strip out all the moisture from your face. And that could disturb your skin, causing it to breakout.
I use the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser as my water- based cleanser. I mentioned how much I love this cleanser on my favorites from this post . You can read its benefits there. And I use Organic coconut oil as my oil- babe cleanser. What I love about coconut oil is that it’s readily available, and you can use it for literally everything. I love cleansing with it.
