4 Things You Should Never Put on Your Sensitive Skin

Hello beauties! For those of us who have sensitive skin, we understand the important of balanced skin. The smallest amount of disturbance in our skin, can cause monumental irritation aka acne. We are restricted to use and expose our skin to things that are  simple and light in nature. Which is why I wanted to share with you 4 things you should never put on your sensitive skin.

Never put lemon/lime juice directly to skin.

If you ever have or have had uneven skin and you’re on a budget, you heard of this skincare remedy. Lemon juice is great for lighting the skin, and it’s available in anyone’s kitchen. However when you have sensitive skin, this is worst thing you could do to your skin. Lemon is extremely acidic on skin, so adding it directly to your skin will not only cause redness, but also severe, continual, acne. I will tell you the best way to use lemon for a more even skin, on another post ;).

Never use products that contain fragrance of any kind

Just like lemon juice, fragrances are also acidic. The tend to cause that tingling  sensation to our sensitive skin. So avoid them if you can.

Avoid products with isopropyl alcohol and sodium chloride

Dermatologists recommend that isopropyl alcohol and sodium chloride be avoided. They are extremely drying to the skin, and can cause irritation to your skin.

Never Over-exfoliate

Exfoliating the skin is great, but when you have sensitive skin you need to proceed with caution.Scrubbing too hard on your skin, will definitely cause you acne. So next time you want to exfoliate, try mixing baking soda powder with equal amount of coconut oil. This is the most effective exfoliate I ever used.

What product do you recommend avoiding for sensitive skin? Comment below ;). Thank you so much for reading.

  1. I completely agree with the last one (haven’t really noticed using the other ones you mentioned)! I very rarely use scrubs because they seem to just cause more acne. I think chemical exfoliators are much better for sensitive skin that using physical scrubs. Thanks for the tips. Will be sure to check my products for fragrances and not put citrus on my skin!
