Hello beauties! Today I come to you with the oldest social obsession, which have also proven very hard to master: Selfie. We all want to get that perfect selfie, which lead us to buy the latest technology to get the best quality of photo. But is it really all about the equipment you use? Or are there really rules to a great selfie? Honestly, the answer is that you need a good camera ( phone or DSLR) and follow a certain method or rule to get that perfect selfie.
I did a series of selfies to test out the best way to take them. And to make it a little easy on you, I have broken the steps down to 4 tips below.
Tip 1: Find a natural light source for your selfie or if you can, buy a ring light. Lighting is the key to a perfect selfie, so make sure your face is well lit. I personally prefect sunlight for my selfies.
Tip 2: Choose a simple background. Selfies are all about how you look like. The focus should be on you, not your background. I usually take my selfies next to a plain wall. And by plain, I don’t mean only white walls, in fact I think colored walls (pink, yellow, blue walls) actually enhances your selfie.
Tip 3: You don’t need a fancy DSLR camera. Nowadays most smart phones come with great cameras, so there is no need for a professional camera ( if you have it, you it). The most important thing to need to know is that, you need to take your selfie with the your phone back camera. The front cameras tends to look photo-shopped, and don’t have good color payoff.
Tip 4: Now that you have all the ingredients for the best selfie, post and snap. I have been saying ‘need’ a lot, but selfies are fun so don’t over think it. When using the back camera of your phone to take a selfie, you might find it difficult to shot, unless you have a mirror in front of you. The way I do it is that I position my phone about 45 degrees from my face and shot. Trust me you selfies will look amazing after a few tries.
