Instagram Post Roundup For August 2018: Senegal Special

Hello beauties! This month’s Instagram Post Round is a little special. I was in Senegal, Africa for most of August to visit my family. I’m sure many of you don’t know, but I’m actually Senegalese-American. Both of my parents are Senegalese and at the age of 3 they also sent me there to live with my grandma.

I spent pretty much all of my childhood and teenage years in Senegal. And with that, I was able to learn the local language, Wolof, and French. I grew up learning able my parents heritage and get a better perspective of Africa.

On this trip, I was able see family members I haven’t seen for years. Senegal has evolved so much while I was gone that I barely  recognized anything. The capital, Dakar, was so developed with new so many infrastructures that it resembles to cities in developed countries.

And Of course the food. Oh God, the food! Not only are they cheap but oh so delicious. I was already prepared to gain weight on this trip. Which is why I didn’t even bother watching what I ate. I pretty much tried every dish that was recommended to me.

Here are a few looks I did while I was there. I wasn’t able to take many pictures because could find good lighting most of the days. But I will hire a photographer, next time I visit.

A nice casual look for my first Sunday there
