Hello beauties! After going through all my skincare steps in depth for the last couple of months, make sure to check them out, it is now time to talk about ingredients. And what better to start this series with than green tea? I use green tea daily for its list of benefits, but mostly for its anti-inflammatory properties.
Out of all the acne fighting ingredients I know, green tea is the only one that works for my sensitive skin. It is an antioxidant, an anti-aging, an anti-acne, an anti-inflammator, and so on. Green tea can not only be consumed, but you can also use it as a topical.
Before I knew about the skin benefits of green tea, I heard so much about it’s anti-carcinogenic property. Which is what got me excited about it. Little did I know, that it was also regulating my hormonal acne. It reduced my chance of acne by lowering the oil production in my pores so bacterias won’t settle in them.
Make a hot green tea beverage and add raw honey, for taste and added benefits. Honey has antibacterial and anti fungal properties that helps with acne prevention and reduction. Drink at least 3-4 cups a day.
Grab a tea cup and add boiling water. Place your tea bag in the cup and leave it for 3 minutes. Take it out and and let the bag cool. Grab another container and open the bag to take out the leaves. Add organic raw honey, to form a paste. Apply on the area affected by acne and leave it on for 20 minutes. Rinse with water and pat dry. Repeat this process 3 times a week.
